Whoot There It Is 95 South Before producers C.C. Lemonhead and Jayski McGowan went on to produce "Tootsee Roll" for the 69 Boyz and "C'Mon N' Ride It (The Train)" for the Quad City DJ's, the duo had a huge Quad platinum hit with 95 South's "Whoot, There It Is" in early 1993. The song was the first bass track to cross over to mainstream success, selling well over 4,000,000 copies. “Whoot There It Is” was released on the Ichiban Records imprint Wrap Records and received heavy promotion with Gene Serina of Serina Promotions (New York City) who got the ball rolling with super station WOWI FM (Norfolk, VA) which created the domino effect for the popular single. The full-length LP reached Billboard's Top 20 R&B around the same time the single peaked at number seven R&B in April / May 1993. However, following the success of "Whoot, There It Is," Lemonhead and McGowan parted ways with 95 South to find more success producing, first, the 69 Boyz ("Tootsee Roll") in 1994 and then Quad City DJ's ("C'Mon N' Ride It [The Train]") in 1996

The production team of C.C. Lemonhead (Nathaniel Orange) and Jay Ski (Johnny McGowan) met as high-school pals in Jacksonville, FL. Interested in the bottom-heavy sound of Miami bass, the pair began producing and worked with Icy J and Three Grand before creating the most popular bass anthem of all time, "Whoot (There It Is)." Recorded as 95 South, the single went platinum four times over in 1993 and led to work with Dis-n-Dat ("Freak Me Baby") and for 69 Boyz, the double-platinum single "Tootsee Roll." As producers of "Tootsee Roll" and the subsequent album by 69 Boyz (199Quad), C.C. and Jay Ski picked up an award for Billboard's Best Rap Single of 1994 and placed in the top ten producers of that year. In 1995, the duo united as Quad City DJ's and produced another platinum hit -- "C'Mon N' Ride It (The Train)." The following album, Get on Up and Dance, hit the Top 40 and was certified gold.
